A new protest art installation on the National Mall in Washington features three fully functional arcade games that satirize the former president's foreign policy and personal habits. The machines, placed near a D.C. memorial, present players with absurd choices that mock Trump's reported preferences and his administration's tense relationship with Iran.
One of the games allows players to select between ordering a Diet Coke or launching an invasion of Iran, a direct jab at Trump's well-documented love for the soft drink and his administration's aggressive posturing toward Tehran. Another machine simulates a golf swing while the screen shows a map of the Middle East, and a third game tasks players with avoiding "bad tweets" while navigating a cartoon version of the White House.
The installation is meant to critique the casual way decisions about war and peace were reportedly handled during the Trump years. Organizers said the games are a form of political commentary designed to engage passersby in a conversation about the consequences of military action. The arcade machines are fully playable and have drawn crowds of curious visitors, some of whom laugh at the satire while others pause to reflect on the serious subject matter.
The installation is scheduled to remain on the National Mall for several days, offering a stark contrast to the solemn memorials nearby. While some critics have called the display disrespectful, supporters argue it is a legitimate form of protest protected by the First Amendment. The games do not carry any official endorsement and are funded entirely by a group of artists and activists.
