Team Mid-Hudson drops a pair of games at BCANY tourney (VIDEO)

CENTRAL VALLEY - Team Mid-Hudson wrapped up a tough stretch at the Basketball Coaches Association of New York tournament over the weekend, dropping both of its games in the annual showcase event. The squad, made up of some of the region's top high school seniors, struggled to find consistent offense against stronger, deeper rosters.

In the first matchup, Mid-Hudson came out flat and never recovered, falling behind early and chasing the game the rest of the way. The second contest showed more fight, but costly turnovers and missed free throws down the stretch sealed the outcome. Coaches pointed to the level of competition as a learning experience, noting that many of the players were facing college-bound talent for the first time.

Despite the two losses, the tournament served its purpose as a final chance for seniors to play together before heading off to college programs across the state and beyond. Several players showed flashes of the skill that earned them roster spots, including sharp perimeter shooting and aggressive rebounding in the paint.

The BCANY event brings together all-star teams from every section in New York, giving local athletes a chance to measure themselves against the best the state has to offer. Team Mid-Hudson will look to build on the experience in future years, even if this year's record did not go as planned.
