I spent three hours with the upcoming SILENT HILL: TOWNFALL, and I can confirm one thing right away: the new enemies are absolute nightmares. They do not just scare you. They hunt you, corner you, and they kicked my ass repeatedly.

The demo dropped me into a decaying section of the town, one that feels like a fever dream of rusted chain-link fences and peeling wallpaper. The atmosphere is classic SILENT HILL, all oppressive silence broken by distant radio static and the scrape of something dragging itself across concrete. But the gameplay has shifted. This is not a slow walk through haunted hallways. TOWNFALL forces you to move, and move fast.

The new creature design is where the game truly shines. One enemy, which I am calling the "Stitcher," is a lanky figure with its limbs sewn backward. It skitters sideways like a crab, then lunges with a speed that feels unfair. Another is a mass of flesh that mimics the voices of dead characters, luring you into dark rooms. I died more times than I want to admit, mostly because I tried to fight. The combat is clunky on purpose. Swinging a pipe feels desperate, and ammo is almost non-existent. You have to run, hide, and pray.

Does it live up to the legacy? Based on these three hours, yes. It captures the dread of the original games while introducing a frantic survival element that keeps the pressure on. TOWNFALL is not just a nostalgia trip. It is a gauntlet. If you thought you were ready to return to the fog, think again. The town has new teeth.
