Will GTA 6 release date stay the same? pre orders out

Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto 6 are officially set to open on June 25, giving fans their first chance to lock in a copy of the game ahead of its planned November 19 release. The date marks nearly 13 years since the launch of GTA 5, and the anticipation is unlike anything the industry has seen in a generation.

Gene Park, a video games and culture critic with The Washington Post, joined FOX 35's Garrett Wymer to break down what this means. Park noted that Rockstar Games is pumping an enormous amount of money into the project, and the game's deep Florida ties have already sparked intense speculation among fans. The question on everyone's mind is whether the November date will actually hold.

The entire games industry appears to be bracing for impact. Many publishers are deliberately avoiding November releases this year, choosing not to compete directly against GTA 6 for sales. That kind of deference is rare and signals just how dominant Rockstar expects this launch to be. However, delays have become a recurring theme in big-budget game development, and GTA 6 has already faced internal setbacks. Park pointed out that while Rockstar has a strong incentive to hit the current window, the complexity of the game could still push things back. For now, the pre-order window opens in June, and the industry watches closely to see if Rockstar can finally deliver on time.
