When my parents banned certain video games during my childhood, I was furious. At the time, I couldn’t understand their reasoning, believing they were simply trying to restrict my fun. However, looking back, it seems they may have had valid concerns. Many of the games I was eager to play turned out to be disappointing and even problematic.
Several titles that sparked my interest were riddled with poor graphics, clunky mechanics, and shallow storylines. Instead of the immersive experiences I had hoped for, I found myself frustrated and bored. Some games even faced backlash for their inappropriate content or lack of engaging gameplay, leading to negative reviews and a tarnished reputation.
This experience has taught me the importance of critically evaluating media, especially in a world filled with flashy advertisements and enticing trailers. Sometimes, it’s best to heed the wisdom of those who have our best interests at heart, as they may see things we overlook in our excitement.
